Susan-Jayne Caballero

As a leading executive in the creative field of home fashion, textiles and décor, Susan-Jayne Caballero has been at the helm of building brands through compelling stories and extraordinary design for 30 years in Industry. Harnessing this incredible experience and background, she has expanded her repertoire for great design within the sacred space. By creating her own brand, Sacra Indumenta, which means ‘sacred feathers’, or 'sacred covering’ in Latin, Susan-Jayne leads a full-service, design and tailoring atelier creating bespoke ecclesiastical garments, liturgical accessories, Mass linens and gowns for Sacrament milestones.

During her tenure in Industry, Susan-Jayne lead creative teams spanning multiple national brands with fine brand statements while working with Ralph Lauren, DVF and Tommy Hilfiger alongside partnerships with many more established and emerging designers. As a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, with a BFA degree in Tailored Garments specialization, Susan-Jayne also studied abroad at ESMOD Paris, a French private school of fashion and speaks French fluently.

Her proven ability to spearhead and manage large design teams consisting of fine artists, textile artisans, product designers and graphic artists across the expanse of numerous brands and price points is a key component to Susan-Jayne’s solid business acumen. Another key complement to this matrix is the vast network of New York City metro area Garment District relationships in addition to vendors and suppliers from all over the globe.

Over time, her deep commitment to her personal faith life blossomed through marriage, family life and conversion to Roman Catholicism. Borne from this beautiful journey, ‘art + meaning’ intersected with ‘form + function’, and the desire to create contemporary heirloom quality sacred vestments with the purpose of serving and beautifying the Mass became evident. The decision to establish this company was rooted in her faith in Christ and fostered by an extensive education and long professional career. As the love of the Mass continues to grow, there is a rediscovery of the Sacred Mysteries, and Sacra Indumenta is invested in creating works of art to support this bourgeoning of traditional craftsmanship and art.

Always with the end goals of integrity, design excellence and uncompromising standards, Susan-Jayne has cultivated a language for elevating brand identity and nurturing confidence through artistic achievements inside of secular and sacred spaces alike. Above all, her passion for restoring beauty in the Mass is at the heart of every beautifully tailored detail in the service of Christ and His Church.
